We've done a lot to the exterior of the house as well...
- The exterior was scrapped (down to the wood) and painted with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of Sherwin Williams 25-year paint (2005)
- Aluminum guttering was added to all overhang areas of the house. (2004)
- The existing 6 ft. privacy fence was dismantled, re-assembled, flipped outward, and a new 6' dog ear style fence was constructed facing inward. This double privacy fence is not very common in this neighborhood and its new construction (2004) means that it will last for years to come.
- The backyard was enlarged considerably by bringing the privacy fence closer to the front of the house. The fence now encompasses the side garage door entry for added security and discreetly hides the trash bin area.
- In the summer of 2004, we purchased a 14' soft-sided pool. We built an 18'x16' U-shaped retaining wall to level the area for the pool. (The pool is gone, but the leveled area remains. This spot is perfect for another pool, patio furniture, or children's swing set.)
- New lighting fixtures were added to the exterior of the garage and the front porch area, and all exterior fixtures were updated with brushed silver finished fixtures.
- The screens on all the windows were re-screened in 2005.
- The garage door has one remote and features a wireless keypad entry system.
- Several flowerbeds were added to the landscape of both the front and back yards.
- Bright, white L.E.D. solar landscape lighting line the front walkway and front flowerbed.
- Two types of hedges have been newly planted (2004) along the south fence and entry walkway.
- The backyard is piped for a natural gas grill just to the north of the patio.
- 1/2"x12" decking was installed in the attic to provide additional storage. Where there was none before, now there is 112 sq. ft. (14'x8') of usable space in the attic.
